Thoughts for the Holidays

With the holiday season quickly approaching, I think about the type of toys that our children receive. Most often, and with good intentions, they'll receive the latest electronic craze or other popular toy. What we don't often consider is how the toy gets used in the long run. Most trendy toys quickly become obsolete, and we know the dangers of too much screen time and the toxicity of plastics. Toys with screens, lights, and noise have been proven to reduce attention spans.

Wooden toys, on the other hand, allow children to develop creativity and problem-solving skills. Without batteries to replace, wooden toys last for generations, not months or a few short years. Safe, ecologically friendly, and stimulating.
